SKEWED VIEWS
Skewed Views of a Nation started off with just a five page spread and evolved into something much more. The article it self talks about how many Americans identify with parties that their parents identified with, even if the modern-day policies of that party hurt them economically. It goes on to say that the lack of accountability of the public to hold politicians responsible, has lead to this country being the most divided since the Civil War. Even the few "good" politicians get caught up in the filth of politics, often times threatened with reelection funds drying up if they they go against the party in any which way. This leads to politicians blindly voting along with their party regardless of the impact of their constituents. The article really sheds light on how clueless many Americans are about a topic that that is so radioactive at this point in our history.

For such an important topic, right before such a defining election, the 2016 elections, I wasn't sure if the article alone would be enough to really convey the shamefulness blanketing American politics. The idea was to take the article's core idea, that politicians will portray themselves one way, but the truth may be something completely different, and turn it into an experience that sheds light on the problem.

Skewed Views Exhibition would be held at David Castillo Gallery in Miami, Florida, a swing state where every vote matters. This glasses case is the ticket to the event.

The exhibition would consist of candidates' portraits, from both parties, alongside each other that are running for the same elected office. To the naked eye the gallery would just seem to be portraits of politicians and nothing else. But the if you put on the glasses that came in your ticket, it would reveal everything that the candidates don't want you to see, that they have "skewed your view" about.
